"Feels Like Home"
I have now visited the Hotel Papping three times and I have to say I like it more and more every time. To sit by the window over a leisurely breakfast, or later a sumptuous dinner is something to look forward to. So is curling up under a rug beside the fireplace, with a glass of wine. Rooms are bright, beds are comfy. If I had any complaint at all it would only be that the "clothed" hours at the pool are so few. Perhaps it might be an idea to switch them so that the nudists could enjoy the mornings, while the rest of us can splash around at night. They do, after all, have the option of the back garden and the privacy it holds. As for the staff I cannot say too much: wonderfully friendly people who really do go all out to make one feel at home - in any language.

"Pleasant hotel"
Ommen has a broad set of accommodations available of which this hotel is one of the most pleasant. Not as expensive as some others but quite satisfactory. We booked the simplest room and ended up in a fairly small room which all the needed amenities. The only drawback was the absence of airco. It was pretty hot when we visited Ommen but opening a window for some coolness was not advisable as our room was directly located near the busy road and the railway. With the window closed the sound of the traffic was in no way disturbing. Added value was the quality and the variety of the food served during dinner for a reasonable price. The breakfast was also quite good but given our need of food in the morning there was no way to compensate for the hefy 12,50 Euro pp. Maybe one could arrange that you can also take your lunch away from the breakfast glut. This is something that was offered by other hotels during our trip.

"Super restaurant, medium hotel"
Nice hotel, bit old fashioned/traditional. Staff is very friendly, rooms are simple and the best part is the restaurant. We combined the nice small sauna facilities with an excellent dinner. Especially the Tom Kha Kai soup. The food quality is unexpected good. Honestly saying, much better then the hotel itself. We will return!

"Extremely Friendly Staff"
I was in a room on the top floor, the room itself was quite dark, and very stuffy. They do need to rearrange the lighting because the area over the bed was constantly dark and the nightstand lights just didn't help. The room has no air conditioning, but a fan was in the closet and the windows open (albeit without any screens). The bathroom is average size, but, there is very little counter space other than a small glass shelf under the mirror. I was afraid to put much on it, as I thought it would break. The shower is small (I'm a large man), but the water pressure is excellent and the water heated up quite quickly. The hotel is very close to Ommen station, but the noise is minimal and situated at the main road to Ommen. The walk into town is lovely (about a kilometer), but a bit tedious when it's raining. The personnel is where this hotel really shines! Everyone is very friendly and helpful. The restaurant employees are exceptional, and happy to help in any way they can. The cleaning services replaces all towels and soaps each day. Breakfast is included with the room. They have a standard breakfast of breads, meats and cheeses. The elevator is very slow, and you can not push the floor button until the door closes. If you're on the top floor, this can become a little annoying if you're in a rush. In addition, the ironing boards and irons are stored in each hallway, and you have to bring them to your room and return them (I left it in my room in the morning, thinking the cleaning staff would return it for me, and found it in the same place when I returned - they had just cleaned around it).

"Very accomodating and a great place to stay!"
The Hampshire Hotel is a wonderful place to stay to get away from the big cities. The rooms are well appointed and the restaurant and breakfast are very good! The staff were the highlight, being incredibly understanding and welcoming as well as resolving issues in a professional and friendly manner. Can't comment on the spa facilities as I did not try any, but the room was very good. Ommen is a great place to visit, a very picturesque Dutch town and this hotel serves it well!

The hiking routes offered by the municipalities of Hardenberg, Ommen and Dalfsen together total 1300 kilometres. This is an enormous hiking network that takes hikers along the most beautiful spots in the Vechtdal, such as the idyllic Reestdal, the picturesque hamlet of Rheeze and the Lemelerberg.

At Streekmuseum Ommen, the history of Ommen comes to life through paintings, historical objects, folk dress and period interiors. The Nationaal Tinnen Figuren Museum has a collection of over 200,000 tin figures in all shapes and sizes. Gardening enthusiasts will love the Ada Hofman’s botanical pond gardens in Gramsbergen – ponds aplenty!
